Welcome to the Renault 5 EV Forums
Hi
I am interested in changing my Seat Mii electric, which I have had for more than four years, for one of the new smaller EVs. I am considering the Hyundai Inster, VW ID 2 and the Renault 5 EV. The ID2 is going to be a bit late I think. The Inster is very well equipped and has a versatile layout but is a bit on the ugly side. However I seem to have been smitten by the blue R5! It is really neat and 'looks right'. The R5 will arrive relatively soon. I will look at reviews and have a test drive when it arrives. Hopefully it will be as good as the info out there suggests.

I logged into the French Renault site to see if the new R5 is available to order in France. The long range version can be configured. In doing so a lot of info is displayed. It also displays pictures of the R5 in all the colours inside and out.
The webpage I used is renault.fr
One thing I was disappointed in was the price of the car - without the French government allowance of 4000 euros, the top model works out at 35490 euros!

Hi. I've driven a BMW i3 as my only car for 10 years, and the R5 looks like a great replacement. I hope the brake regen is good, as I couldn't own a car now that didn't have decent one-pedal driving. I like the fact that the R5 is slightly smaller than my i3, as I live in central Bristol, with cars double-parked on narrow roads. Every other interesting EV I've looked at so far is big!
Has anyone bothered buying the R5 pass? I've heard that if you change the configuration at all you lose your place, so I'm not sure it's worth it.

Hi DKH
I don’t fancy paying £150, which you don’t get back, before seeing cars in the flesh and more importantly, having an extended test drive.
Mind you I really like the look of it!
I will take my time and be sure I get the right spec/colour so the R5 pass is not for me.
